Family Therapy
Family Therapy
Even when families are in conflict, people are typically striving for the same things: balance and connection. Family therapy may be helpful in reducing conflict by improving communication, exploring needs and dynamics, and helping family members move in toward each other safely. This increases the quality of the relationships. Families are systems and therefore changes in one part of the system, effect changes in other parts of the system. We have an integrative approach to family therapy and incorporate strategies from several philosophical models. Overall, we seek to explore attachment styles, sources of stress, communication skill building, increasing empathic listening, and problem-solving. We address external sources of stress and minimize their impact on the family system.
